NOVA Helpline and Accompaniment Volunteer
NOVA Helpline and Accompaniment Volunteers assist NOVA staff in providing coverage for the organization’s 24-hour helpline and provide accompaniment and support for victims in local emergency rooms and during police interviews. Volunteers must be 18 years of age, meet all required clearances (child abuse, criminal record check, and FBI fingerprinting), and complete a free 45-hour training course. Additional yearly training hours are also required.
Community Volunteer
NOVA’s Community Volunteers help to engage the community in NOVA’s activities and mission. Community Volunteers staff information tables at community-wide events and fairs and/or become trained through NOVA’s Speaker’s Bureau in how to effectively present the agency’s overview to community groups and organizations.
NOVA Fundraising Committee Volunteers
NOVA holds events throughout the year to help raise funds to support programs and services. Volunteers with special skills in fundraising, event management and logistics, marketing, and event planning are needed to work with NOVA staff in the planning, development, and execution of these events. Fundraising committees typically meet once per month at NOVA’s office in Jamison.
Event Volunteers
Event volunteers are crucial to the success of NOVA’s fundraising events. NOVA holds several events throughout the year that require a group of volunteers to staff the event and assist with set-up, breakdown, registration, check-out, activities, and much more.
